Cooperation between Angola and the United States in health has concentrated on combating malaria, HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis, and on strengthening epidemiological surveillance systems and the training of health professionals.
Angola is part of the President's Malaria Initiative (PMI) and the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), programmes that support prevention, diagnosis and treatment across several provinces.
